My wife and I recently visited this Malaysian restaurant and had a very pleasant experience overall. The food itself was absolutely great, and the restaurant was exceptionally clean and welcoming.A special shoutout to our server, who was incredibly kind and attentive. I am currently unable to eat spicy foods (even mildly spicy), and when a dish didn’t align with my restriction, the server immediately offered to replace the food for me. I declined, but I deeply appreciated the excellent customer service and care. I’m gonna eat it later haha. Our only complaint was the price. The meal felt pretty expensive, especially considering the small amount of food served. I am not entirely sure if this is standard pricing for Malaysian cuisine, but it did feel steep for the portion sizes. The food however did feel high quality. That being said, they offer a weekend lunch buffet, which sounds like a much better value. We will definitely be coming back to try that! Definitely worth a try! There also appears to be a bar too.

Nice place for malay food. They are now on a soft launch so only have limited items on buffet style. Still the items they had was awesome. I liked their Nasi goreng and Chicken curry. Can't wait to go back when they have a full menu.

My boys and I were excited to support this new neighborhood spot during its soft opening, and Taste of Malaysia did not disappoint! It’s a relaxed, market-style experience where you choose your favorites from the day’s freshly prepared dishes, then grab a seat and enjoy. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and unpretentious, and the portions are incredibly generous. We loved everything we tried! The chicken satay was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor from the ginger and savory marinades. My boys especially enjoyed the naan, chicken fried rice, and chicken with vegetables and noodles, and we all loved the soup. Every dish tasted fresh, authentic, and like it was made with care. The best reviews are empty plates! I also love the charming full-service bar and the comfortable outdoor patio—it’s a great place to relax with family or friends and such a wonderful addition to The Sound community in Coppell. If you’ve been looking for authentic Malaysian comfort food, generous portions, and a welcoming neighborhood atmosphere, put Taste of Malaysia on your list. It already feels like the kind of place that could become your “second kitchen.” We’ll definitely be back!

The atmosphere of the restaurant felt very welcoming. The Owners of the restaurant even came to my table to ask how the food was. Also, the staff were really polite and did not rush me into picking which food to eat, shoutout Shushma and Tina! Also, for the price, the staff were piling my plate high with food and kept coming over and asking if I wanted anything extra. The sambal was amazing. Would definitely recommend this very tasty food to all.

The restaurant name says it is Taste of Malaysia, but there is nothing Malaysian at all. We got the Nasi Lemak with chicken curry, and a side of the fish curry. * We ordered the Nasi Lemak with chicken curry and it is a huge letdown. They use the wrong rice grain, lack of coconut cream aroma, and the chicken curry is watery without flavor. * The side of fish curry was expensive, very salty and overly saucy. The staff did not know the price of sides, and so they discussed with each other and then randomly chose a high price as I was at the register without telling me beforehand. * They do not offer water with your meal, and actually charge per water bottle, which is unheard of especially in this summer heat (and the very salty food). * The staff seemed completely lost. They weren’t able to recognize their own items on the menu and had to ask what each customer ordered to be able to put it into the register. Note: Giving the benefit of the doubt, this was the soft launch, so maybe with more time they will get more familiar with the menu and food they offer. Overall, this restaurant serves what tastes like Indian food, neither Malaysian nor Malay-Indian cuisine. Giving them the b
